Alcatel One Touch Fierce 2

Alcatel One Touch Fierce 2
The Alcatel OneTouch Mustang 2 offers some decent specs for the low, low, $ 126 off-contract price. You get 400 Snapdragon processor, Android 4.4, and 5-inch screen, which outpaces direct competitors such as Kyocera Hydro Life and Motorola Moto E $ 112.00 on Amazon. But hard uninspiring design and some streak of performance left me less than enthused about the smartphone on other devices may have slightly more impressive spec sheet.

The OneTouch Mustang 2 is dull, dull, dull. It was 2.83 by 5.55 by 0.39 inches (HWD) and 5.26 ounces, clad entirely in the most generic midnight blue plastic available. It makes absolutely design statement whatsoever, especially compared to the colorful Nokia Lumia 635 $ 99.84 on T-Mobile or even the strict form Kyocera Hydro Life $ 98.78 on Amazon. The micro USB charging / syncing port on the bottom caused me some problems, too, with USB plug having some difficulty adjusting to. The 5-inch, 960-by-540 screen looks cheap and unsaturated, but at least in part due to the relatively low 220ppi pixel density.

Call quality, on the other hand, is a good. Call sound warm and moderately strong through the earpiece, and the speakerphone is loud enough to be used outdoors without the phone around. Shipping usually call Less aggressive noise cancellation, but your voice through loud and clear; The same goes for the shipping speakerphone. Telephone support schemes calling Wi-Fi T-Mobile, as well as HD Voice T-Mobile.

Like all of the $ 100-ish T-Mobile phones except the Lumia 635, the OneTouch Mustang 2 injustice LTE. In 3G networks, it runs on HSPA + 21 speeds, slower than max T-Mobile HSPA + 42 speeds. That means the download speed of around 3-5Mbps, and upload speeds up a little above 1Mbps. I also regard in terms of coverage, as T-Mobile is now committed to expanding its aggressive LTE network; Owners HSPA-only phone will lose out in the effort. The phone also supports quad-band GSM for the (slow) global roaming and 802.11b / g / n Wi-Fi, though only in the crowded 2.4GHz band. GPS and Bluetooth 4.0 LE also on board, as usual.

Battery life is uninspiring. In a rundown test, in which we streamed a video on YouTube over HSPA with screen brightness set to max, the Mustang 2 lasted 4 hours, 37 minutes on 2,000mAh cell.
